Bloxes: An attempt to a plastic free world
APARAJITA | Mar 8 2008

The importance of cardboard starts right from the childhood when a child starts developing the ‘jigsaw puzzle’. It has got tremendous, though very silent kind of importance in our lives. Even during school days kids make various projects made out of cardboard. Aza Raskin had realized the importance of cardboard so well that with his innovativeness he has given it a very different concept all together. He has come up with the idea of ‘Bloxes’ and prefers it to be considered as ‘a physical representation of Web 2.0.’

The best part is his understanding of the ‘green’ idea. As he gives his effort in the creation of a whole office with the Bloxes, he is taking care of the characteristic feature of getting it recycled. The Bloxes are recyclable and are very easy for transportation. They are much cheaper, takes very less time in getting assembled and carry the same sophisticated look.

The concept needs to be adopted in all possible sectors wherever possible. As Aza Raskin adds that with some waterproof coating these Bloxes could be used outdoors; it opens a kind of revolution against the use of Plastic. There are many things that can be shifted from Plastic to this Bloxes. The creator has already done some major shifts.
