Eco Factor: Rent-free pop-up store powered by solar energy.

Wayne Hemingway has unveiled a new type of pop-up store to provide creative entrepreneurs a rent-free retail space, for which they won’t have to pay for electricity too. The KiosKiosk is unveiled in London and will host a different retailer everyday for the next two months. The self-sufficient retail space will be powered by roof-mounted solar panels, energy-efficient lights, a laptop computer and a sewing machine.

The retail space has already been booked by several retails that include “Above & Below London”, the makers of recycled tube shoes. The designer believes that the kiosk is an architecturally interesting and easy to construct retail space that can spice up our towns and cities.
