Eco Architecture: Living, breathing additions to give new life to your old walls

EcoFactor:
The “Vertical Living Wall” helps you turn the walls of your home into a garden by growing shrubs and plants on a cool new green platform.

The Vertical Living Wall is the creation of designer Giulio Sbarigia, and this fabulous little creation will bring life to your home with its vibrant design. The wall enables you to grow different plants and shrubs around you on a vertical platform that has both the required nutrition and moisture to support plant growth. An LED backlight is used to make the entire setting a lot more pleasant, while water vaporizers on the four sides of the wall help provide the necessary moisture. The walls are retractable and sports wheels so that you can change their position when needed. Apart from the aesthetics, the plants help in providing a carbon-neutral environment and constant fresh air. Moreover, next time you want a spice while cooking, maybe you can just pluck it off from your own wall!

The Dark Side:

Just like many other concept designs, this might not actually make it to the consumer. The design is cool, but practical problems with such vertical gardens will continue to exist. If the idea is practically feasible then it would indeed help start a cool new trend.
