Eco Automobiles: Energya sets new green style on three wheels

Eco Factor:
The compact three-wheeler saves both on space and energy while offering a zero-emission ride with its clean electric engine.

Modern designers seem to have found a very comfortable way of keeping away from trouble by designing a range of three-wheelers. This seems to have enabled them to work with a lot more creative freedom, as they are not classified as cars and hence do not need to measure up to certain set standards. This gets the trikes past both some technical regulations and also saves loads of cash. Higgins-Aube’s Energya is a trike for the future that combines green technology with a captivating design. The vehicle is powered by an all-electric motorcycle engine, which is connected to a six-speed manual tranny.

The Energya not only offers an emission-free ride that is both comfortable and clean, but also makes sure that you do not waste all that charge, by using light building material. With a wonderful aerodynamic body and a mass distribution system that increases efficiency, the Energya is all set to change the face of electric-powered vehicles of the future.

The Dark Side:

The wonderful concept still largely depends on fossil fuel energy for the plug-in charge. The outlandish design and the three wheels might not be to the liking of many motor enthusiasts. The Energya can only be a two-seater, and that would also discourage people from picking it up. While the makers state that the car could be ready in the next 18 months, this seems highly unlikely.
