Eco Factor: Low-emission vehicle designed to be powered by a hybrid engine.

UK-based manufacturer Axon Automotive has unveiled a plug-in hybrid car at the 2009 Milton Keynes Science Festival. The yet unnamed vehicle is designed to be powered by a hybrid engine featuring a full electric mode for local travel and a gasoline or bioethanol fueled engine for long-distance commutes.

The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has no limitations of range and carries a lightweight body made from carbon fiber for better fuel efficiency. The company claims that the vehicle emits just 50g of CO2 per km, which is half the level needed for a free annual road tax in the UK.

In addition to a low-emission engine, the vehicle also carries seating made from recycled fabrics and door panels made from recycled carbon fiber.
