Eco Factor: All-electric concept car harnesses solar energy.

Renault has announced that the company will be partnering with L’Oreal to develop an all-new 100% electric “spa” concept car dubbed ZOE Z.E. The electric car is aimed at people who need a clean car for short-distance commutes.

The roof of the car has been designed as an intelligent protective membrane that insulates against heat and cold. The roof also carries a honeycomb array of photovoltaic cells that recharge the vehicle’s batteries on the move. The car also boasts the finest in air filtration and purification technology.

The all-electric vehicle can be charged from a conventional wall socket in 4-8 hours or use the fast charge option to charge it in 20 minutes using a specialized charging station. The company also claims that the car’s batteries can be swapped with charged ones in just three minutes.
