Eco Energy: Using Solar LED bricks to pave a green path
Sameer Kumar | Sep 11 2008

Eco Factor: The Solar LED bricks charge up with sunlight during the day and emit light at night.

LED lights have really changed our attitude towards lighting and energy conservation. This wonderful LED-lit place seems to have utilized the lights to the optimum. These solar LED bricks use the energy of the sun to charge themselves during the day and light up once natural light fades. This makes the energy source clean, and considering that LEDs save 80% of energy compared with conventional lighting, it does not take much time in the sun to charge them completely. More public places and open-air theaters could really benefit from such a green overhaul.

The Dark Side:

There is very little that is wrong about the solar LED bricks apart from the fact that they obviously do not work indoors and on a rainy day.
