Eco Interiors: Venus - Seductive crystal beauty at its dazzling best

Eco Factor: Beautiful crystal chairs that are green and completely eco-friendly using a process called “Second Nature.”

“Venus” is one word that stands synonymous with timeless natural beauty, and while our thought process might be flashing images of some Greek goddess, this one is all about a green and clean crystal chair. The serene and captivatingly beautiful chairs made from natural crystal formations are developed by a Japanese designer named Tokujin Yoshioka. The designer uses a very special and unique process in which he grows the crystals in a water bath, where a natural fiber structure encourages crystal growth.

The crystals grow along with the fiber structure, which ensures that one can create any pattern that they choose, and the structure is under the control of the designer. The pristine white crystal chairs are completely eco-friendly and even the manufacturing process is totally green.

The Dark Side:

There is no apparent negative side to this entire process in terms of ecological implications, but it is time-consuming, and the designs would be limited in terms of dimensions and shapes. This, though, could be rectified using an industrial technique that is suitable for mass production.
