Eco Factor: Energy meter prevents wasting energy and unnecessary air pollution.

The enhancement in technology with each passing day has made us envision uncountable products making our work a lot more easy, but how many of us really bother to keep a check on how much electricity is being consumed and thinking of ways to conserve is a different ball game all together.

An Israel-based company, Elah Valley Energy Engineering, has come up with a next-generation smart energy meter called the “Watt-O-Meter” that is capable of providing a constant reading regarding the electricity consumption of a home. Wasted energy is costly and creates unnecessary air pollution contributing to climate change. This smart meter installed on home fuse boxes allows users to keep track of their electricity consumption and generates alertness with users to cut down on their unnecessary usage of electricity.

The Watt-O-Meter is not capable of reducing energy usage by itself but displays the data power at homes in real time and then translates it into financial cost. In Israel the average consumption was 6000 kW/NIS 3,000 per year but after using the energy meter it is seen that a potential savings of 1200 kW/600 shekels is made a year.
