Designed by Carl Smith, these Wilting Flowers display household energy consumption in a way that will surely touch your heart if you are a plant lover. The flowers connect to your house via a wireless transmitter attached to the mains and monitor the electricity consumed in your house in real time.
Mimicking the effects of pollution and global warming on real plants, these flowers change color and shape according to the energy consumption. If you are already high on energy consciousness these flowers greet you by standing tall and bright, but if you are not of the first kind, then they show you a sad face by dripping down.
The Dark Side:
Though we have to appreciate the thought put in by the designer, we sincerely feel that a single flower would not get any importance in a busy household. If the designer is able to put in more effort by adding some energy reducing features like powering down all appliances that are not in use, then this gadget surely would be a boon for all Ecofriends.

Man made global warming is a myth!
maybe if some people can get their head out of their ass and realize industry law must change before everyday people can make even make a difference. All of these ”green” products often make a bigger environmental impact from their development and production than what is saved. Basically we are made to feel guilty so we buy more useless shit. Capitalism, the rotating circle of inefficiency and mass consumerism.
In the post (GRD) great republican depression era, all will be rectified! We will use public transportation, burn no foreign oil, live in zero running cost, Zero upkeep hi-tech survival dwellings, drive battery, plug in, bio fueled carbon fiber ultra light weight commuter cars for short distance travel. The bicycle and battery scooter will be common, everyone will have a veggie garden, no one will have a lawn, no even the White House! We will all compost humanure, and even with all these efforts, the U.S.A. will be a net food importer even from China! Our society is dividing, as we speak, into an elite upper class, and a suffering, diminishing, drug infested, AIDS infected, drunken, uneducated poverty stricken, ignorant, unemployable, disorderly and criminal sub-lower class! The upper class entertains themselves in self-righteous pre-occupation with gadgets of dubious value, but attributed to saving resources, all the while, consuming over 80% of the worlds resources to support an unsustainable lifestyle for one more generation! Comeuppance is in the offing! the dollar isn’t worth te paper it is written on, and the world is catching on to what ”FIAT” money means, the money pump is broken - We are doomed!
