Eco Motorcycles: MotoCzysz debuts E1pc electric motorcycle for TTXGP
Anupam | Apr 13 2009

Eco Factor: Bike powered by hot-swappable lithium battery pack.

MotoCzysz has showcased its dream motorcycle, which will be competing in the TTXGP race for them. We call it a dream machine since operating range is not a problem for this mean bike, which has been designed with a hot-swappable battery pack configuration. The hot-swappable configuration also allows its designers to get the most out of the battery pack, which enables the bike to reach a top speed of 150 mph on a single speed gear box and an additional 25 mph with its multi-speed gear system.

The bike has been made from low weight carbon fiber and an aluminum chassis, which allows it to carry 195 kgs 125 kgs of lithium batteries, generating more than 115 hp of power and 300-ft-lbs of torque.

The Dark Side:

The motorcycle has been designed keeping racing needs in mind. The technology will prove useless if it’s used for street bikes, since no one would be interested in carrying an additional 195 kgs 125 kgs battery pack.

Thanks for the article,

The maximum battery pack weight is 125Kg (not 195Kg) which brings the bike inline with a liter bike weight spec.

This can be tailored (reduced) if desired by removing some of the ’hot swop’ packs - all the way down to 30Kg - if you have a short commute!

Thanks
