Eco Factor: An open-roofed greenhouse that is crafted completely out of discarded plastic bottles.
Plastic bottles are probably the most abundantly found examples of ill-disposed trash, and with the growing consumption of these bottles across the planet, the problem with plastic waste only seems to be getting trickier. The “Bottle House” crafted by Jasmine Zimmerman is one fine way to make sure that you do not add any more bottles to the landfill, a mountainside or the beaches. The Bottle House is a greenhouse with open roof and is just an artistic design rather than a construction that is set to stand firm.
The House is just a symbolic way of promoting recycling among all and it surely drives the point home. Americans alone drink 70 million disposable bottles of water each day, making plastic bottles one of the biggest hazards to natural ecosystems.
The Dark Side:
The “Fragile” sign on the Bottle House is no joke, and the structure is indeed very fragile. But considering the fact that the designer was only creating an art form to encourage recycling and not an architectural structure that is a small failing we are happy to look beyond.
