Eco Rides: Lazareth Wazuma - A biofuel powered 500bhp quad
Madan | Aug 12 2009

Eco Factor: Four-wheeled quad runs on bio-ethanol.

If we talk about swine flu, then we think of precautions to be considered to avoid getting infected. However, we must pray that the green fever finds its way throughout the world in every field. Lazareth, a French special builder, is new victim of green fever. His new Wazuma quad is the outcome of this disease. What makes it special is its supercharged BMW V12 engine that can provide 500 horsepower to this rugged beast.

However, I am more concerned with the engine that is powered by E85 bio-ethanol. The intention behind using bio-ethanol seems more to utilize its capability of providing higher compression ratio, but still it’s beneficial toward the environment. Further, the price tag of $284,000 makes it a luxury quad.
