Eco Factor: Renewable energy generator to power 1000 homes.

Tidal Energy Ltd is seeking permission to install its DeltaStream device on the seabed, commencing a year-long trial to be held at Ramsey Sound, near St Davis. The company claimed that the tidal energy generator can produce enough renewable energy to power 1000 homes.

The unit features three generators mounted on a triangular frame and can easily be lowered and recovered from the seabed using a floating crane. The unique blade design also enables the unit to shed excess power allowing the system to constantly generate high energy.
