EVFuture launches Solar Charging Station for electric vehicles
Asmita | Jun 16 2008

EVfuture is a south Indian R&D firm that specializes in researching the potential of electric vehicles in the subcontinent. The firm is currently developing prototype vehicles of 400W and 800W that will be better suited for Indian road conditions. Based near Pondicherry, EVfuture launched a solar charging station for electric vehicles in Auroville, South India on Earth Day this year. The station features 2 electric panels on the roof with built-in chargers for 36V bicycles. To cater to people with different voltages, two 220V sockets are provided for external chargers. The station charges all day long and aims at providing solar electricity to users any time of the day or night.
