Hinterland Electric Car: Designed for a sustainable green future!
Sameer Kumar | Aug 21 2008

There is no doubt that emission-free cars are the way to go into future, and electric vehicles may not be the final solution to the problem of finding the green way to automobile world. While many believe that hydrogen is the ultimate fuel and generating it from water by using solar power for electrolysis will be the perfect green way to power the cars, that is pretty far away from reality right now. That is exactly why electric vehicles are the intermediate part of the big solution—and the next couple of decades belong to them.

The Hinterland project is a vehicle design, development and production project, national in scope and using innovative technology to market an affordable yet environmentally friendly car that meets the needs of the people. The design fostered does not rest on obsolescence; it is not subject to replacement for aesthetic reasons but is rather based on clean, innovative lines that will never go out of style. In addition, the design allows for exceptional aerodynamics combining the convenience of a car with an aeronautical fuselage.

The entire project is aimed to give a very distinctive and innovative form to a Canadian design for a long-range electric vehicle. The vehicle is designed to be energy efficient and perfect to travel into a green future. Its aesthetic design along with green features and a good electric engine to power it along make it real special and something to watch out for in the future. Unlike many concept cars, it surely does not delve in the possibilities of the unreal and impossible.

Plane...train...automobile...which is this???
i am soooo confused with this design. it kinda looks like a bullet train from the front and the rear....don’t get me started!!

It does look like a cross between a bullet train and a car. Is that a van? Because to me it looks like one. I’ve never heard of eco-friendly vans, only eco-friendly cars. It would be really great to have a van join the green revolution.

I think it looks pretty ugly. Another unique yet far more interesting vehicle here. It gets 300 mpg which is probably way better than that train looking thing will ever get.

Radhika, You actually thought that was a plane? I’m sure you were just trying to be dramatic like in the Superman comics. I can understand if you think its similar to the bullet train though. Anyway, just a green van that saves fuel and is spacious enough for a pretty big family.
:)

This concept is really cool! I really like the sleek lines and design of this one. Plus you can save gas while driving this cool car.
