How to make a solar powered car?
Piyush | Dec 21 2007

Personal touch always has a different classy contentment level, firstly because it’s self made and moreover, you have a final product in working condition. Normally we won’t find people making cars for themselves, but in this abnormal world a sustainable ‘normal’ product certainly deserves some appreciation. The green product that I’m referring to is a solar car. A car which has a low cost kit, large diameter wheels, low weight and above all no fight with the Middle East. If you think this is enough to provoke you to make one for yourself, here is a little more insight for why you should think of making one. Video after the jump.

The car has a speed limit of less than 35 mph (a top speed of 25mph) which is quite decent when it comes to states that have low speed vehicle law. It gets all its power from the sun or can be even plugged. It is street legal: windshield wiper, disc brakes, seat belts, turn signals and lights. In short a green car with a greener motive and a sensible asset to possess.

I’m sure this thing would be a hit when used as a public vehicle for short distance..its very practical and useful to improve fuel economy using the sun’s energy..

Thats like a modern day fred flintstone car. LOL a twist on old technology.

Thats a very good attempt at making a car go solar, shame it looks like one of those cars which has to have no luxuries and has to remove most of the things which would add weight to it. Now if they managed to make a solar scooter, that would be a thing for people to commute to work :P

nice information
