Kyoto-Car: The eco-friendly limousine from Japan
Deepa | Jul 10 2008

It isn’t strange to see a solar powered car coming from the land of rising sun! Conceptualized by a group of eco-geniuses from Kyoto University Venture Business Laboratory and christened as Kyoto-Car, this eco-friendly four wheeler sports an oriental and stretched-out look. Much in contrast to an array of pod-shaped, compact green concepts zooming past on our green blog. This electric car will run on electrical power and is also geared to juice up other doodads by means of solar power as the car’s roof is decked with solar panels. Even the car’s wheels would move independently, allowing for sideways locomotion. The only thing they need to change is the floral designs on the body. Won’t go well globally. Watch out for the car in action here.

Despite the flowery decor, if they can manage to keep the wheels looking like ”On” buttons and put some suv accessory when this goes into production, then they’ll have a winner.
