Biofuel - Does it come for an unpayable price?

Do you know, filling your car with biofuel is slowly destroying our planet earth? According to Sky New, bio diesel comprises of palm oil has destroyed a whole lot of much needed rainforests. Although, demand for biofuel has started to save environment, yet it is destroying one of the greenest place on Earth, Borneo.

According to an environmentalist, a big area of forest was destroyed last year to fulfill the ‘greengold’ requirement of Indonesia. In the coming years, whole rainforest will end and its native orangutan will be extinct.

As there were no homes for them, approximately 900 of apes are being caged. A few of them were shot as they were eating palm saplings. One of the major buyer of illegal logs and minerals from this place is China. You would be shocked to know that a Zircon mine has converted a green forest into desert.

According to Borneo Orang-Utan Survival Group’s Lone Droscher, “If they cannot buy you off, they try to threaten you. This has happened to us a lot.” Although, Indonesia is making claims of banning the burning and cutting of jungles, still there are various evidences that marked such deeds. Well, planting of palm oil saplings will never bring back the original lost beauty!
