Sanyo’s Solar Ark – Rare combination of solar energy and architectural brilliance
Mahua | Jan 9 2008

We can definitely call this one a rare combination of brain with beauty. No, we are about to gossip about a Hollywood star. Surprisingly, it is a building. This architectural wonder called ‘Solar Ark’ has been built by Sanyo, Japan uses solar energy so effectively that you are simply awestruck.

Now, talking about whether it works or not. Over 5,000 active solar panels generate approximately 500,000 KWh of power. The Solar Ark has about 500 multi-colored lights that create amazing shapes and letters on its side. Now, if you wonder how all this happen, say for example, how solar energy is saved and used for this purpose then Solar Ark has a solar lab which interactively shows you how this clean energy is stored and used. Now, taking global environment issues in a serious approach, this building has meeting rooms for seminars and programs dedicated to this very cause.

The curved shape allows for maximum solar exposure and also shows you the path of the sun boasting its energy. It has a truss system that helps with fading lights as dizzying cantilevers to span from the center looking up towards the sky. The use of environmentally friendly energy in this building is simply brilliant.

It will definitely be one of the forerunners of the green movement. It has meeting rooms, and informative labs, what else does it need to be a tourist destination?

500,000 KWh? Did you mean 500,000 kilowatts? Because that would be 500 gigawatts, and I doubt very much that is what you meant.
