Solar nomad devised to power tools with solar energy

Intending to utilize the power of Photovoltaic Cells in an innovative, unique yet practical method, industrial designer William van Beek has conceptualized a portable plug and play solar power system called Solar Nomad. Originally planned for a E-gator compact Uitltiy vehicle, he proposed to create a canopy panel out of the solar cells that would attach to any electric compact utility vehicle. This will allow users to power small tools or other electric devices while out in the field working with the vehicle. A perfect two-in-one solar powered solution for logging workers and the kinds.

Devised to be attached under the passenger seat, the Power Module houses the battery, as well as power inverter and charge controller. The simple user interface facilitates ease of use, and contains 2 standard 110v power outlets, as well as one 12v power outlet.

The canopy is designed along with the corner caps that contain plug-in interface between the solar panel and the Power Module, simplifying the system to be “plug-and-play”.

Ultimately every one will realize that out of all natural resources, only the solar power will be most economical source of energy.

Will he make solar nomads for other vehicles as well or will he just make it exclusive to E-gator compact Utility vehicles? If this was included as a discount part truck then I can see trucks of the future using solar energy for fuel.
