Energy Detective to find the culprit gadget
C.S. | Oct 26 2007

In order to mend things, we first need to know the source of the problem. Once that is known, there are too many solutions in this wide world to every hitch. If you are wondering what I’m getting at, well, sometimes or many times, the shock of the month becomes our electricity bills. Its nice to have comforts but it hurts to pay the bills. We certainly don’t have the time and patience to keep track of which house-hold electronic gadget we use most frequently or how many watts it eats up. Wish there was yet another gadget to monitor that? Well, there is. Its called The Energy Detective (TED) – monitors your home energy usage in kilowatts and cost in dollars and displays it on it’s screen.

If you would like to find which of your gadgets is the culprit, just verify the display when you use them. If even checking the display from time to time is tiresome, just set up an alert that will tip you off when the energy usage exceeds a pre-defined threshold. Having determined which of your gadgets consume maximum energy, speaking on a general psychology basis, it would automatically make you conscious every time you use it and naturally make economical use of it. Besides, you would be sure to switch off the heater or light when not required. All that at a one time cost of $140.
