Anshu | Sep 29 2007

Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for the Environment has declared to reduce the harmful emissions of CO2 gases by eliminating the high energy light bulbs from the shops. In the coming four years, most of the retailers will replace these bulbs with less energy consuming ones.

By the year 2012, UK electricity generation wants to save approximately 5 million tones of CO2. In March this year, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has made similar announcements. Simultaneously, chancellor of UK wants to make UK first country for removing the inefficient light bulbs. He is expecting this by 2011.
