Willy Bogner’s solar powered ‘Private Space Suit’

Check this out, fashion designer Willy Bogner has put solar-powered lights in ski suits. The outfits were presented earlier this month in Munich, Germany, as part of the city’s bid to host the Winter Olympics in 2018. The solar-powered LEDs employ thin-film technology developed by lighting company Osram. The suit is fitted with twelve brightly illuminated, solar-powered OSRAM Golden DRAGON LEDs on both the front and the rear as well as on the sleeves. These LED light sources boast a particularly high luminous efficacy along with a low space requirement. In the “Private Space Suit”, the flexible, separable LED strips place impressive illuminated highlights in red and white. Linear light Flex is the name of the lights along the strip that make an attractive modern design element.
